When audio industry giant Peavey asked RH Consulting to help promote their new range of Commercial Audio products in the lead-up to InfoCom 2016 in Las Vegas, they knew they had to call in a heavyweight from the blogosphere: World UnBoxing Champion Tony McGee!
Voiced by the marvellous Ashley Slater and "hand acted" by Ryan Penny and Yours Truly, this goofy over-excited "vlogger" takes us on a whirlwind spec-tour of Peavey's fabulous new commercial audio toys. Tony's hyperactive reviews have gone down a storm and he's gathering something of a cult following.

One of the most fun and rewarding projects I've had the pleasure of working on. The brilliant minds at FEREF Ltd. came up with the idea of using Marvel's "merc with the mouth" DEADPOOL to help promote cancer awareness and encourage self examination.
With the enthusiastic help of Ryan Reynolds and the Deadpool film crew, and a razor-sharp script from FEREF's talented writers, the footage was swiftly shot at Ryan's very own home. From there, I helped design and produce the video's in various formats, to be unleashed on Youtube and other social media.
The campaign was a huge hit. Successfully raising awareness for testicular and breast cancer, scoring massive kudos and brilliant promotion for the movie. With well over 3 million views to date and still rising, the videos have been a PR slam-dunk.

Pressure Drop Pictures asked me to produce a piece of art they could bring to life to promote the re-launch of the classic drawing toy - Spirograph.
I created a "spiro-made" funfair image, full of the iconic spiral patterns and delivered the final fully-layered vector file to PDP's fantastic animators and editors, who used it to produced this charming TV advert.

Fire Without Smoke asked me to help them with a promotional piece of key art for Square Enix’s latest action-packed release of their incredibly fun and destructive franchise Just Cause.
I worked up various rough compositions using locations captured in-game. This formed the guide for the architecture to be rebuilt in hi-res 3D. Rendering of the wing-suited hero Rico was rendered by Square Enix studios.
For the final piece, I reshaped the renders to add extra foreshortening for a greater sense of height and added drama. Then re-textured, added detail, pyrotechnics, atmospherics, colouring and other effects in Photoshop, on a giant hi-resolution master file suitable for multiple uses including large-format display.
Just Cause 3 is released 1 Dec 2015

This has to be one of my favourite pieces of work for some time. I love designing "pretty looking" logos and I love animating logos. So this was a bit of a dream job really. Bandai Namco needed a dedicated logo for their upcoming Tales of Ambassador elections - whereby one lucky, devoted cos-player is chosen as Ambassador for the hugely popular and much-loved "Tales of" game series.
It seems to have gone down well with the fans so far, one commenter wrote on the official forums : "...the new ToA logo kicks ass!"

Here's a snapshot of recent work.

For bestselling author Peter James' latest thriller, Pan Macmillan wanted an arresting TV ad coupled with an engaging online YouTube campaign. 3 versions of the pay-off were filmed for You tube viewers to try to "save Red".

This was a tricky, but ultimately very satisfying job. The developer announced late into the project that unfortunately due to unforeseen resourse constraints they were unable to capture gameplay footage for us. So we had to rapidly revise the script completely to accommodate capturing ourselves - using only a single tank, on a deserted map! The resulting trailer is a spooky "ghost story" of a lone tank crew being ambushed by a vicious unseen foe.
We augmenting the footage with voice actors, score, sound-fx and graphic overlays. While Macrus Millichope of ThankyouMam did a fine job adding the epic pyrotechnics to the final scene. All in all a great result under huge time and resource pressures. (Scroll down to see the original story board)

Guildford-based studio Born Ready Games needed a punchy announcement trailer from in-game footage of their gorgeous space-fighter Strike Suit Zero. Beautifully animated review quotes were motion-mapped in amongst the action. The final piece was edited to a thunderous high-energy remix by the immensely talented Black Futures from the games original score.

A rip-roaring teaser trailer for Slightly Mad Studios's racing MMO. Having worked so well with them in the past, it was a no-brainer to invite Black Futures to contribute the killer soundtrack "Chemical" to the party. We constructed a narrative of racing your way to the top culmination in an epic Clan-Battle race across London. Gorgeous in-game footage was captured by SMS's immensely talented Darren White.

Shazam the world's leading experts in music recognition, needed a short demo to explain the features of their new iPad app. Footage was captured from a working beta directly from the iPad and composited into a "dummy" iPad frame. The various feature sections were optimised and animated, together with a voiceover which wrote and recorded for them.

The developers of the astonishingly successful free-to-play MMO World of Tanks wanted a video to celebrate their first year of open beta. We cut in-game footage to the epic sounds of dubstep punkmetal band Subsource and augmented with 3d-tracked review accolades. The final piece was a smash hit at Wargaming's anniversary event.
